Job Summary 

  • Manage all claim demands filed against Seven Seas Insurance Company, Inc.
  • Leads a team of claim adjusters and the Claims department workflow.
  • Direct the affairs of subrogation as well as the collection, valuation, and sale of salvage goods.
  • Directs the service and administration of the business plan, examines and directs others in adherence to the rules and regulations set forth by the Florida Department of Financial Services/Office of Insurance Regulations.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Directs the investigation, review, evaluation, negotiation, and preparation of settlements for Seven Seas Insurance claim submissions.
  • Supervises and leads a team of adjusters handling claims and the department’s workflow.
  • Educates and trains team in responsibilities of Best Claims Practices.
  • Performs quality reviews on claims in compliance with internal and external audits and all regulatory requirements, whether domestic or international.
  • Keeps current on state regulations with issues, industry activities, and trends.
  • Prepares and analyzes departmental reports.
  • Forecasts calculation and establishes monitoring of the claims reserve accounts.
  • Assists the President, of Seven Seas Insurance in determining viable markets.
  • Determines areas with high loss ratio and recommends directions to help lower risk exposure.
  • Works alongside the President and Director of Business Operations to manage reinsurance notifications.
  • Performs all other assigned duties.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Experience: Seven years experience in Claims Handling or Underwriting. Five years of management experience.
  • License: 6-20 Adjusters License
  • Travel: 5% Domestic and International travel.
  • Language: English required. Spanish is preferred but not required.
